The light is a LED light . It is also very bright light . I have a different brand light and it doesn't seen to be even close to as bright as this one . This one has a pupil gauge . It has a warm white light that is very useful to be able to get a good up close look. It is made from aluminum alloy which is very light weight and easy to carry around . It also has a clip to clip on your shirt or where ever . It also comes with free batteries .
